Hey, beautiful human -
Welcome to the new format for Mostly Human! I’m a little excited and a little nervous because I switched platforms and I honestly don’t know whether this will be better or worse.
But hey - midlife reinvention is kind of my whole brand now.
If this lands in your inbox with weird formatting, broken buttons, or spooky ghost fonts… my bad. I’ll fix it next week. Probably. Maybe. Depending on snacks.
For now, I hope this still feels like the same cozy corner of the internet: a little weird, a little warm, and always rooting for your brilliant, messy self.
Last week’s shenanigans
🧠 Curious about the French AI contender?
I took mistral.ai for a spin — it’s a sleek, no-fluff chatbot that’s not trying to win your affection, just answer your questions with a side of ethics and affordability.
It’s not as helpful as ChatGPT or Claude, but I respect its boundaries.
🛠️ Tried lindy.ai… and kinda hated it.
The promise? Seamless AI agents that automate your work.
The reality? I used 125+ credits trying to add time blocks to Google Calendar and got nothing but arcade-machine flashbacks.
📚 Then oboe.ai redeemed my week.
This little tool builds an actual course from one sentence.
Quizzes, flashcards, podcasts, even games. For $15/month or free if you only need two. It’s built for just-in-time learning - and I’m into it.

ROCO Tip O’ the Week
Planning dinner? Try this instead of winging it.
This prompt shows how ROCO can turn overwhelm into “Ahh, I got this.”
Role: Pretend you’re my upbeat, budget-conscious meal planner who understands midlife chaos and picky eaters.
Objective: Help me create a 5-day dinner plan that’s dairy-free, budget-friendly, and takes under 30 minutes each night.
Context: I’m cooking for a family of four. One kid is picky, I’m exhausted after 6PM, and I want to avoid specialty stores or complicated recipes.
Output: A clearly formatted 5-day dinner plan plus a single grocery list I can copy/paste or print.
✨ Try it in ChatGPT (free version works great):

In case you missed it
✨ The Numbers Don’t Lie (But They Do Sparkle)
Since June, I’ve been running free AI Confidential sessions - little playgrounds where midlife women (and a few curious allies) come to kick the tires on AI without judgment.
Here’s what the surveys tell us:
⭐ Average rating: 4.6 out of 5
💬 Would they recommend it? 96% said yes (22 “Absolutely,” 2 “Maybe”), with only one polite “not my thing.”
And because only about a third of people fill out the survey, that means we’ve had around 75 actual attendees so far.
(My kind of math: curiosity x safety ÷ tech-bro energy = community.)
What this tells me?
People aren’t just curious about AI. They want a space where curiosity feels safe, playful, and deeply human.
That’s the heart of AI Confidential.
It’s not about making you faster or shinier. It’s about reminding you that your imagination is still the main event - AI is just the sidekick who carries the glitter.
Let’s do it again

And I ain’t leavin’ til’ the hour ends!

That’s it for this week.
Whether you’re building something big or just managing to get through the day - you’re doing great. Really.
💜
See you next time,
Deb
P.S. If you liked this issue, forward it to a curious friend. If you didn’t… blame the tech. 😉
P.P.S. Trying out a new format this week - what do you think? Hit reply and let me know what’s working, what’s weird, or anything you’d love to see more of. I read every note.
